Burma continues to reject help OR...

your title sounds more appropriate I think. They've actually let the aid from Malaysia in, so I'm not sure....perhaps they're just picky about who they let in.
should the U.S. force aid upon people? so often U.S. aid comes with strings attached. is it actually respectful of the U.S. to obey Burma's rejection? or irresponsible?
all i know is i'm sick of the U.S. propping itself up as the moral guide of the universe. ridiculous.
Hey Aput,

Perhaps they are not averse to accepting aid from 'low-profile' countries as opposed to 'high-profile' ones as the former do not compromise the perceived integrity of the junta as much. Accepting aid from HP countries basically reinforces the notion, especially amongst the local populace, that the rulers are truly incapable. That might further reduce any propensity amongst the local populace to accept them as their rulers. History has shown that whilst a people might gradually succumb to force of will as opposed to the force of reason, this is compromised in catastrophic times where the rulers are perceived as incapable of complementing tyrannical force with effective aid.(i.e. china is a historical case in point)

Greetings Lady Readsalot,

Nope, my focus is not on the US, but the world taking the lead. Like yourself, I too would be apprehensive about accepting 'moral guides' who have much to gain personally. But hey, that's capitalism for you;)
